gathering > Tour of a Cemetery - One of the Service Projects for the 2009 ELCA Youth Gathering brought students to Merrick Cemetery in St. Bernard Parish, LA. Parts of the cemetery were literally turned upside by Hurricane Katrina. Because of signficant financial and physical obstacles, the cemetery still has much work left in its restoration process, even four years later.
gathering > reflection: Jesus, Buses and Blisters by Brett Nelson - The service projects of the 2009 ELCA Youth Gathering wrap up Saturday. Some students worked very hard and saw great progress in what their team undertook. Other students were on projects that for one reason or another were not what they hoped they would be. It's hard to say which might have a greater value in the long run.

A pre-event to the ELCA Youth Gathering, DAYLE brings together young leaders with a wide range of physical and cognitive differences. The song entitled, "How Could Anyone" is performed by Dakota Road and written by Libby Roderick. Video by Brett Nelson.
